Pianist Lianhua C. is a graduate of the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College where she received her M.M. under the tutelage of Dr. Adam Kent. A native of China, Ms. C. began her musical studies at age 4, and studied at the Music University of YanBian with Professor Tianyi Zheng. She continued her studies as a full scholarship student at the Robert-Schumann Hochschule in Dusseldorf Germany, where she earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees with Professor Georg Friedrich Schenck. She has also played in Master Classes taught by world renowned pianists Hans Leygraf and Andre Watts. Ms. C's talents have been recognized in numerous international competitions, and she has been awarded top prizes in the Wiesbaden International Piano Competition, the Music of Dusseldorf University Schomolz-Bickenbach Piano Competition, and the Concorso Internazionale Di Esecuzione Musicale Citta Di Padova Competition. Her international concert engagements have taken her to Helsinki, Finland, where she was offered a solo recital at the Sibelius Academy in 2005. Her orchestral engagements have included a performance of Bela Bartok's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Robert-Schumann University Orchestra at the Dusseldorf Tonhalle in 2006. Ms. C. is also a featured Winner of the 2010 Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College Concerto Competition where she performed the Edvard Grieg Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 16 with the Conservatory Orchestra. Mrs. C.-Bretania currently resides in New York City.
Beginning her musical studies at the tender age of four, pianist Lianhua C. has been able to showcase her talents to an international audience. At the age of seven, she was accepted into the Music University of YanBian where she studied under Professor Tianyi Zheng. Following her studies as a child, she left her homeland of China and began her studies in Dusseldorf, Germany at the Robert Schumann Hochschule, where she studied under Professor Georg Friedrich Schenck and received both her undergraduate and master's degree. She also studied with Dr. Adam Kent at the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College in New York City where she received her second masters degree.
During her stay in Germany, Lianhua C. was given the honor to perform for master classes taught by world renowned pianists Hans Leygraf and Andre Watts. In 2006, she performed Bela Bartok's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Robert Schumann Hochschule Orchestra at the famous Dusseldorf Tonhalle, where her performance was highlighted by the Rheinische Post. She has accompanied two young musicians during their performance at Carnegie Hall, and has taken top prize at the 3rd annual "Health To Hollywood" Talent Competition benefitting United States Veterans hosted by the Northwell Health System. Her students have also won top prizes at the Golden Glassical International Music Competitions and have made their Carnegie Hall Debut in the Fall of 2016. She has been serving as the official accompanist of the Golden Classical Music Awards Invited Winners since 2016 which has held numerous recitals at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Additionally, her students have been awarded top prizes at the American Protege International Piano & Strings competition. She has recently traveled to Paris to serve as a Jury Member for a Music Competition held at at Paris’ famed Cité de la Musique.
